That’s why the Higher Education and National Youth Action Teams of Citizens’ Climate are teaming up for a youth-driven campaign to get out the climate vote in 2024. The Climate GOAT Campaign is our way of channeling our superpower as authentic champions of the need for climate action to mobilize climate voters.
The campaign combines relational organizing and deep canvassing tactics to support youth in speaking with people they know about the importance of keeping climate in mind at the polls.
Relational Organizing is mobilizing others with whom you have a personal connection (like family members, classmates, friends, even teachers/professors).
Deep canvassing is a structured conversation tactic that emphasizes empathy and emotion with the intention of shifting the other person’s belief/perception.
